To ensure the ESAP development process is participatory and inclusive we invite stakeholders to provide expertise and knowledge about environmental problems and their solutions. Participatory approaches are widely used in strategic policymaking, in the EU and beyond.

Allowing for many stakeholders to participate increases the likelihood that actions prioritised by, in this case, the BiH ESAP, will better reflect the needs of different groups of people. This can, in turn, help to ensure that the benefits of development and environmental protection are more fairly shared. It also results in that stakeholders feel ownership of the process and are more likely to act on the measures and targets outlined in the ESAP.

Watch this video which in simple terms describe the usefulness of a participatory approach and how you can engage in the ESAP project.
